My son and his family have just managed to save enough money and bought themselves a 20 year old van, its in very good condition and they cant wait to get out in it. Last week they were looking at sites around Ashbourne. They found one that looked good so got prices. For a van and 2 adults it was £23, for the 2 kids it was £2 each, awning £2 and £3 for the dog and you can only stay a min of 2 nights.

£32 per night is highway robbery, especialy £3 for a dog , how much room do they think a dog takes up !!!.

At these prices its cheaper to get a package holiday in spain for a week and get waited on, at least you have more chance of sunshine. If every body boycoted these overpriced sites they would have to bring their prices to a realistic figure.

Hello

Sorry to hear about the high prices your son has experienced, sounds like a commercial site to me as most if not all the club (caravan and camping and caravanning) don't charge for dogs or awnings. I'm sure if they tried this option it would not be quite so expensive. I appreciate when you have kids you have different requirements than a couple. We used commercial sites more when our kids came with us as we felt there were more on site facilities, and when the kids are happy you are!!!

Good luck

PS where do you get a holiday in Spain for

Try Beechcroft Farm at Blackwell in the Peak. You'll have to google for the website but its great for families. Loads of room to run around, Pennine Bridle Way at the gate plus all the other Peak District attractions.
