Sites near Poole in Dorset

Hi folks

I do this every year and someone usually suggests somewhere suitable so I thought I would try again to see if anyone can come up with anything.

I am looking for a site near the Poole area in Dorset. I have been to various parks in Cornwall and Devon but I really like this area. I have been to Sandford Holiday Park before it was taken over by Parkdean so I would rather not return there. I have also looked at Wareham Forrest Tourist Park which looked very nice but all their paths are gravel and would be very hard going in the chair.

One thing the park needs to have is wheelchair accessibility as I am fully wheelchair dependent. Although I am wheelchair dependent I am very dependent and do not need anyone to do anything for me, it is just that I have no use of my legs.

If possible I would like some sort of entertainment but it is not a must. I have 13 year old son who is more important so activities for him are important too.

I don't mind commercial sites as long as they are reputable.

I know this is a lot to ask but if I don't ask I will not find out.

Merry Xmas Dougy,

Have a look at Ullwell cottage touring park at Swanage.

It has Tarmac roads and a clubhouse/bar/restaurant/swimming pool.

It is a commercial site with a lot of statics but is positioned well for Swanage town and the ferry at Sandbanks.

It does get busy at the peak but might suit you.

Hi Dougy,

A really good touring near Poole is Merley Touring Park owned by Shorefields absolutely first class also there is South Lychett Manor caravan park.Merley is the best though have a look at the site on www.shorefields .com.Good Luck and a Very Happy New Year to you and your family.Jim

After the earlier post about Pool council hiking the parking charges to 15 quid a day l wouldn't bother to frequent the place.
