Skoda Octavia

Hi

Im about to get a new Company Car of a 2.0tdci Octavia, and Have bailey 550 6, has any one towed with this combination if so whats it like, and any general comments on the Skoda.

I think its the Word SKODA thats worrying me

Hi Symon. I'm currently towing a Bailey Ranger 470/4 with a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDi Sport hatchback having previously had the 2.0 FSi estate.

The Octavia is an excellent towing car with plenty of torque. Came back from Devon last week and got 31 mpg which I was very happy with. Tows easily in 5th gear and on occasions 6th.

One observation is that the Witter towbar I had fitted on the hatchback seems to sit slightly lower than the Bosal swan neck that was fitted to the estate. As a result the van sits slightly lower at the front when hitched but not too low.

I wouldn't worry about the badge snobs.
