thinking of buying a skoda superb 1.9 td 130 bhp to tow a baily ranger 510/4.Any advice would be appreciated. regards dave
sounds good enough to me regards daveThe Skoda Superb won the Towcar Of The Year competition 2-3 years ago so it can't be too bad.
The Superb uses a long-wheelbase version of the VW Passat platform - I just wish they made an estate version of the Superb, I'd be first in the queue.
hope it doesnt stop as much as a bus regards daveI experienced one a couple of years back in Europe. Yes, the car was fine but........ oh so boring. It was a bit like taking the bus, did the job but without much adventure. I felt the Octavia was a better allrounder, although obviously lighter in weight.
good i dont know the fuel figures for the deiselI can't vouch for the Superb, but I tow my Bailey Ranger 470/4 with an Octavia 2.0 FSi estate and it's brilliant.
Even though it's petrol, I managed to achieve 29 mpg along the A50 from Kegworth to Stoke towing the van in 5th with cruise control set.
