Had a week at CCC club site at Oxford recently. Journey down was horrendous- bucketing down. I realised I'd got a binding brake so it was to be new calliper. On site came to cook dinner and no gas. Changed cylinder, still no gas. I thought the regulator had gone. turned out to be the pigtail blocked. For 24 hours I fiddled before being happy that all was safe and done. The holiday site assistant was superb, encouraging, suggesting and supporting me. Thank you Mick. In the info room was a card from a mechanic so i phoned him about the brake. I mentioned i had an extended warranty and he said he couldn't do it because he was not vat registered. he recommended someone else- Kennington motors. This garage obtained all the parts, dealt with the warranty company and did the job on time and below estimate. Well done Bob. (Good news is that Warranty direct's cheque arrived today!) And the third thing- the wheel fell off the Wasatemaster. Well done them for sending me a new spring nipple.

The site is noisy from traffic but very pleasant and so convenient- bus outside to Oxford every few minutes, Sainsbury's within a mile, river Thames 15 minutes walk away and reasonably priced golf at Hinksey heights about 1 mile away. The bonus is that Go Outdoors share the site.

Hi Waffler. Next time you are down that way,go to the Bat & Ball Inn at Thame. It is a Cricketers Pub & full of Memorabilia, including a ceiling, wall to wall with Willows fixed up to it. The last time I was there the food was beyond reproach. Also they keep Wadsworth 6X,Rocket Fuel on Draft.
