Like me any more. Drove over to Watermead park near Leicester for a walk, got there and changed our minds and headed back home to Melton. Got as far as the Great Dalby turn, some of you may know the turning, it's the turn off the A607 Melton to Leicester road down to the Eye Kettleby Caravan site. As usual there was a queue at the turn, I stopped in at the end of the queue for what must 15 seconds then a car ran into the back of me. Looks like the tow bar took the brunt on the hit. Insurance has arranged to pick up the car tomorrow and drop off a curtesty car at about the same time. They don't hang about now-a-days, do they.

Sorry to hear that.
Insist they pay for and change the tow bar and tow ball. Who knows what stress damage has been inflicted. Or they state in writing unlimited time they are responsible for any future failure and the consequences thereof.

Hope that they haven’t damaged the underpinning of the car. I lost a Volvo estate that way. Externally everything looked fine. So make sure the underneath is thoroughly checked out.

Thanks Clive.
Think I will contact my insurance tomorrow to make sure they have it covered.

Unlucky but insurers are far more proactive these days to cut down on uninsured loss claims. Had an accident last year which was not my fault and I had it all sorted with my insurers within about half an hour of ringing them. I then had his insurers trying to take over the cl;aim and even his manufacturers making sure it was sorted.

Car back shining like a new pin. New tow bar, bumper fitted, Two new reversing censers fitted. As soon as I get rid of this cold, I'll be putting copper grease on all the nice new shiny fixings.

My wife's car was pranged, new front bumper, fog lights etc.
They collected it, dropped off a courtesy car, then brought her car back three days later, they even checked the tracking just to be sure!
