Why does it take so long for manufacturers to supply spare aprts for damaged vans?

Back in July we damaged our worktop in the van, put in a claim, got the quotes, got approval to go ahead.

The person doing the repairs contacted Swift group to order a new worktop, and since then,NOTHING.

Whilst we can still use the van, it is a little annoying to have to wait so long for something as simple as a worktop, after all, I presume they are still building caravans, ready for next year, and to increase the order for worktops by one unit, from their supplier cannot be that hard to do?

The caravan industry, manufacturers and dealers, don't have customer care very high on their priority list. It's like the car industry in the '60s and '70s and we all know why there's no British car industry.

While they continue to find it so easy to sell poorly designed, badly made caravans and offer poor after sales service, things aren't going to change.

There are isolated exceptions but these stand out, not because they're very good, but because the others are very bad.

Too many of us complain about products but still keep buying them. Sales figures are the only thing most industries are interested in.
