Hi,

My 11 year old caravan has a spongy floor - delamination i think? I've read the posts on how to do it yourself but dont think I could let my husband lose on this one! does anybody have an idea how much it would cost to get it sorted professionally? If I dont get it fixed will it get worse? If it does get worse what will eventually happen??

thanks for your help

You should really give it a go. My first starter van had this and I mended it over a weekend. I got the two part epoxy solution from the caravan shop and got a large syringe from ebay. They you drill a lot of holes (big enough to fit the syringe through) about 6 inches apart in the area of most spongyness. Then mix the two parts together, fill the syringe and inject into the holes. By the way the holes should just go though the top layer of ply and not all the way through the floor. The idea is to fill the gap between the expanded poly and the ply with the epoxy. Once done I put bricks down to apply some pressure and left it 24 hours to set. The next day I removed the bricks and the floor was now rock solid.

As stated before, this is very easy to fix,and cheaper than a dealer to do.I fixed my floor last month, and found the hardest part ripping out and fitting a new carpet. The kit i got was from e-bay about
