Status 570 Antenna

With the new van, we haven’t tried the tv until today.
I have read the instruction (quite unusual for me) and try as I may I can’t get a signal.
The amplifier fitted is the vp3, without any signal location indicator, I have had a read online and have ordered the vp5 from vision plus in the hope that it may make set up a little easier.
All connections seem sound, tv works in house and amp is switched on.
Am I missing something simple or are these antennas just a piece of roof adornment?

Just realised this is in the wrong section, could a mod kindly relocate it.

We had the same problems on our sprite major , ours would not work as explained in another thread we had to take ours back and get the technician to sort it straight away , but like you i was on the phone I had the amp booster turned right up still nothing !
Very frustrating, get back in touch with them . All sorted and happy now though .

He said he just plugged them in and they worked ! I tried front and back sockets with 2 different tvs and cables , not a thing ! I think it wasnt connected somewhere between the plug and the dish but they were'nt saying that !!

Hello Kevin, whenever we go away if it more than 50 MILES from home then we have to retune the tv, due to different signal anttenas.

Just a quick update.
Replacement upgraded amp turned up today. Upgraded as in this one is the vp5 with built in signal indicator.
Swapped over and it shows a few weak signals, not enough for the tv to work.
I’m putting this down to the proximity of the surrounding properties and lack of clear view of a signal.
Will try again on site.
I did notice that Status website now offers a 580 model which seems to have a longer pole so putting the head higher, I wonder if this is to correct a design fault in the 570?

Can’t think why you should think the 570 has a design defect as they have been around for quite some time now and I can’t recall many if any reported issues. Assuming of course that the tv signal is being acquired. Since UK went fully digital and the signal strength improved compared to the days of analogue-digital I’ve hardly had need for sat.

I didn’t say that I thought there was a design defect, I said I wondered if the 580 was to correct a design fault in the 570.
The box of the 580 actually states “longer pole for extra height and performance”
I’m sure all will be well when we are on site.
