Stenna and Irish ferries

Hello all us pet travellers, just returned from a funeral in Dublin, and to my surprise, on the Ferry, I picked up a leaflet stating that pets travel free , they can stay in the car or have a free kennel, guide dogs can go in certain cabins, but small dogs as , is one of our "The Rat" Jack Russel x Chiwaua. These, dog's can go in the main cabin in a carry on kennel. Not a Labrador with two people carrying. 🤔

We took the Irish Ferry Pembroke -Rosslare last year without the caravan but with two dogs. We had reserved a kennel but when we looked at them they were not very clean and even to my diminished olefactory senses they smelt. So we left the dogs in the car. It's a four hour crossing so that was okay for them.
Irish Ferries are very civilised and on our two crossings in September day times were almost empty compared to cross channel ferries.
