Sterckeman escapade 340 folding caravan 1982

Hi can anybody help

I have just finished refitting the van and i am a bit confused on the running weight i have two plates on the van giving weights of pv610kg 750kg 850kg 65kg. Am i right in thinking that the 65kg is nose weight pv 610kg is just the body plus chassis and the 750kg is running weight with cuboards sink and fridge and the 850kg is running weight plus awning gas bottle and other bits. HELP!!!!

Hi Marin..i,ve got the same caravan the 340 nice unit had it about 6yrs and now i,m quoting from the manual i have with caravan.....

ie ..weight at towbar.it is advisable to keep the weight at the tow bar between the two weights indicated here:

Minimum weight (35kg/77 lbs) and Maxmium weight (65kg/143 lbs

if you have an awning probably best to store it in car ...(well mines under the sieat near tow bar so heyho had no probs so thats that hope this helps mate

As you two guys have classic vans, can I interest you in joining us at the European Classic Caravan Rally next May? You've just missed this year's event in Belgium, which was superb. 2010 is to be held on a site about 30 kilometres south of Calais, on the four days around the 13th May.

There were a lot of Sterkemans there this year, out of a total of over 180 classic vans. Britsh ralliers only numbered about ten, of which 4 of us were Royale owners. Send me your email if interested, and I'll contact you whrn I have more info, probably next Jan.This offer is of course open to all classic van owners!

Hi Emmerson, i,m interested but other half is,nt at mo scared of the motorways ??which are alot quieter than here...but yes like too know more nearer the time. thanks Mate Andy
