Stiff Bailey ceiling blinds 2018

Our ceiling blackout blinds in our Bailey Cartagena are very stiff to open and close, they do work but seem too stiff when operating 🤔

I have the same issues with the one over the bed in my Phoenix, noit been able to sort it but can see no reason for it being stiff to move.

Had the same on our previous 2018 Swift, nothing worked for us but there was a YouTube video (somewhere….) that explained it was to do with the strings and showed how to dismantle and cure it. Never bothered as we changed the caravan last year but it felt like something was going to break when trying to close it! I’ll see if I can find the video.

Nope, can't find it, I obtained it originally through the (now closed) Swift forum, from memory it was something to do with the strings rather than the actual blind sticking.

If the WD 40 gets onto plastic it can make the plastic brittle and lead to cracking.

WD40 multi use product is the one that can affect some plastics so unless you know the type of plastic then it’s best not to use it. But the also make a range of specialist products targeted specifically at certain tasks. They are excellent.
