Sue, I have not stayed at the site but when I am working at Motherwell I stay at the Holiday Inn which is adjacent. I have not had a look at the facilities but the site appears to be open plan an I would consider it a night halt. I'm not sure if I would want to spend a week there. If you want to go into Glasgow it would be wise to drive into Motherwell or Hamilton and get the train. The site is on the side of the M74, south side, so there is a bit of traffic noise. The park is quite large and has a lake which I think was built for the Commonwealth games rowing. On summer evenings there are a large number of people strolling round the lake. In side the park are a number of hotels and pubs and there is a fun fair with a big wheel. Sorry I can't be more helpful but I will be going to Motherwell in april so will take a closer look.

hi sue, havnt stayed on this site before but as ray said it is open plan and right next to the m74 / a725 so there will be road noise . due to the funfair being in the park there will be a lot of youths hanging about, whether that has any interference with the site i do not know ,and is the only reason why i havnt tried it . where are you travelling from ?

This is a very unattractive area of Scotland especially for places to fish. There is so much to choose from anywhere else other than the west central belt of Scotland. There are some nice places in Strathclyde region but not many, particularly for a holiday.

Sue,

I stay fairly near to Strathclyde Park and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The park is flat but open planned. There is a lot of traffic noise. Adjacent to the park is M&D's theme park - where agian there is a lot of noise. It is also a target for boy racers with there cars at night.

If you let me know what type of holiday park you are looking for i.e. quiet or entertainment on site I can recommend some beautiful sites in Scotland.
