Hello Ernie

I know that there are support organisations which are available to stroke victims but I'm not aware of any caravan related organisations which cater specifically for those of us who have suffered strokes.

Why do you ask?

Hi

my wife had a stroke and has seizures,I was looking for "stroke" groups with the same interest in caravaning to get more feedback on sites that are recommended.

My sympathies to the situation facing your wife.

Thew trouble is that you have asked a very 'open ended' question. Strokes can affect people in so many different ways. Some people are fortunate and recover most of their normal functions while others suffer badly. What the effect has been on your wife will kind of define what sites would be most suitable.

Obviously both Clubs can offer sites with comprehensive facilties for disabled in general, and if you have any particular requirements then give the site a call and discuss. Unfortunately, I suspect that if you are looking for facilities that are more comprehensive, then this could be difficult, but if you are looking for possible shared experiences then hopefully some on this, and other Forums can assist you. I would also suggest trying to locate people with similar interests in Forums dedicated to that condition.

I wish you every success, but if you feel that touring caravanning is not going to be a realistic possibility, then why not consider one of the cabins that the C&CC can offer on a site as a compromise?
