this is possibly a daft question but I'm going to ask it anyway. Can anyone tell me please if the caravan's overall length INCLUDES the A frame? I suspect I know the answer but just want to check before I go and order the wrong thing !

thanks

Hi Aileen

There is no such thing as a daft question, only daft answers ;0)

The length of a caravan including the A frame is referred to as the shipping length.

If you tell us what you are going to order there might be more information available.

Aileen, the length including the A-frame is usually referred to as the 'shipping length'. In descriptions of the specification, the legth quoted is usually the overall body length without the A-frame.

Shipping length of the caravan includes the drawbar. shipping length length of the car includes the towbar. However, if you add the two together you may find they come to less than 12m, so if booking a ferry, "adjust" one of the other to get down to 12m or somewhere very near. since most ferrys go to cars up to 5m and vans up to 7m you are buying a 12m space, so don't be too modest about it. particularly in winter the odd cm. or a few is very unlikely to get checked.

Probably get banned for saying this but good luck anyway.

thanks for your help - I want to buy a cover for my van but was a little confused about "overall" and shipping"

Was also to lazy to walk round into the yard and measure it and so thought I would just go by the info in the handbook.

thanks again for the help

regards

Aileen
