August that would be great just in time for my 2 weeks in the New Forrest.

All we need now is for our greedy Government and petrol companies to lower the price of fuel under a pound and it will be a jolly old summer...

It should be good weather from this Saturday till the following Sunday throughout the country - my neighbours are away.

However, for the early part of August, there will be severe weather warnings issued by the Met Office. Heavy rain and flooding to most areas, storms and gusts of wind reaching 60mph. - That's when we're away.

The weather is bad. We are on day 8 of a 2 week break in St Ives. It has rained every day since we arrived. We have had 2 severe weather warnings and winds gusting at 45 - 50 mph.

Lovely 5 star campsite with heated outdoor pool, 2 outdoor children's play areas, tennis courts and sports field. All excellent facilities in the sun but with such inclemental weather my boys are bored and their DS's are about worn out. We have been to see Harry Potter and visited the Goonhilly place as its indoors.

Considereing moving to a site with indoor facilities but its finding somewhere that can take us today. The weather doesn't look like its going to improve.

Going to dig out waterproofs now for another wet stroll into town for a Cornish pasty! This is our 3rd wet summer in a row and am seriously thinking about giving it all up and jumping on a plane next year.

I will feel better after a glass of wine, lol!

We are thinking the same as you Louise, we were going to buy a new van at the end of the season as ours is now 9 years old, but my hubby phoned me from work this morning and said if this weather continues we wont bother with a new van keep the one we got and go back to going abroad in the summer.

We are off to the Forest of Dean next weekend for 10 days and then another 10 days in Cornwall, hope the weather does improve or I will have 2 very fed up kids on my hands.

We can live in hope I suppose.

Sorry to hear about the terrible weather you've having Louise.

I've been thinking about selling up and taking holidays abroad too. When you work full time, you NEED decent weather. I guess retired people and those who don't have to work can go away when they want to. It's just soooo disappointing when you've been looking foward to your hols and it just rains all the time, even worse when you have children with you too.

It's all due to the sports, of course - Test Matches, Open Golf etc. Never found the snooker finals caused this sort of problem.

Sister in-law just come back from Spain last week, temperatures of 38 to lower 40's, couldn't go out after 1pm burnt to frazzle. Daughter got back from Cuba 3 weeks ago, first day attacked by mossie had to go into hospital for day and the interned in her hotel room for the next 3 days some holiday.

l think l will stick with the inclement weather, at least l have my own home on wheels with all mod cons to entertain myself and O/H.

Pamala, granted you can take your beds abroad, but if you go too far south there will still be the problem of temps too hot for you (or me with my pasty skin!!) to go out past 1pm!!!!

Come on guys let's support our own local economies and just put up with a bit of rain every now and again. Just as long as it is not as bad as last August when we almost had to swim along the M4 to Pembrey!!!!!

Whats up with everybody, l agree with Zafiral whats a bit of rain, get the wets on pack lunch and walk this beautiful country of ours, bet by the time you have done a few miles suns out and you are bound to pass a pub for relaxing beer or glass of wine. always enjoyed it "the beer l mean".

Come on that's why you buy caravans isn't it to enjoy the great outdoors and not stuck in some hotel in Spain with a cafeteria to eat in with cold chips and over cooked beans.

We come back to a steak and all the trimmings, what can be better than that, l rest my case.
