Hi all

We have booked a fully serviced in France for our summer holiday. We have purchased the necessary Aqua roll fitment/ballvalve and the additional optional hose. As we have not used a pitch of this type before can anyone advise how long the waste pipes may need to be.

Many thanks

Dave

A lot will depend upon the definition of 'super pitch'in so much as some will have the tap and drain behind the van so possibly 2-3 metres will do the trick ,but many sites I have been on have a drain and two taps between pitches so you may 7 metres or even more and that is a lot of bulky waste pipe!

David, the first time I used this facility for waste water I used flexible pipe which was virtually useless as I had great difficulty in managing to get an even downward slope for the waste water to drain, on our pitch the drain was surrounded with bricks and the difference in height was about 6 inches over a distance of approx 5 metres so supporting this bendy pipe was not easy. Then I thought it through and sorted it for next time:

I bought four lengths of plastic overflow pipe and around ten straight joints and elbows all 25mm dia, I adapted the waste outlet point on my caravan so that the 25mm pipe would fit. All the lentghs were cut down so that they fitted into the front locker (virtually no weight)and a junior hacksaw with them.

Now when we go on a pitch with a drain I simply assemble the required length with straight or elbow joints and cut to the required length. A gentle slope can be acheived by packing up as required with awning pegs, bits of wood etc. The small dia means that you have a slow water drain but we never carry any waste water. Total cost around
