Yet more woes unfortunately, but thats my fault for buying an old caravan I suppose.

OK can anyone help me out here....

Basically my water pump doesnt work. Its a Whale Supersub 88, and connects via an angled 2 pin 12V plug to the underside of my van.

I assume that when I turn the tap on the microswitch activates the 12V and the pump should start, however it doesnt. I'm not 100% sure yet whether the problem is with the pump of the power to it.

Am I right in assuming that the 12V feed goes to the tap first, then out to the power socket? I know the 12 lights work in the van, so I have no real reason to suspect that the socket is faulty, but I just want to make sure before I buy another pump.

thanks for any advise

The return (or negative as it is usually called) is direct to the pump socket.

Only the positive is switched through the microswitches.

Richard,

I asume all taps are affected? If it's only one tap then the switch is suspect on that tap. If none of your taps work then check with a meter on the 2 pins for the pump and you should have 12v. If not check your pump fuse.

Thanks for the advice. Any idea where I'm likely to find the pump fuse?

If it's an old van, I'd look under the offside seats for the fuses. That's where they were on my Sprite Alpine, or...try very carefully connecting 12v to the pump (submerged in a bucket of water) and see if it runs? Check the connections are tight on the plug as well.Running out of ideas now Richard!

Good luck,Ron

Thnks for the help Ron.

I know all the 12V runs into a Labcraft TP2 unit, just hope theres some fuses (or maybe a loose wire) in there. I'll check when I go to the storage place on Wednesday
