Some one kindly put a link to a place selling LED bulbs - i'd like to switch to these as we spend a lot of time not connected to electric points.

This is the link.... http://www.leisureshopdirect.com/caravan/home/bulbs/led_replacement_bulb_range.aspx

It is no secret that I am a real dummy when it comes to anything technical so could someone kindly point me in the right direction as to which bulbs I need. Here's some pics of my current lights from our Ace Transtar which will hopefully help you - help me

Have you by any chance got the handbook for the caravan Neil?
This will show exactly what bulbs are used and from that it's easy to find an led equivalent

just swapped all my strip lights for a 7 pound reel of leds that can be cut to size, it was cheap, simple and they are self adhesive on the back! the result was fantastic, all old lights on i was pulling over 20 amps from the batt, with all the leds on it was down to 1.4 amps!!!!
wow
pm me if you want to know where on ebay to buy them and for tips on fitting (ps im not selling this product, i just think ist fantastic)

These are a few pics of the LED lights i installed in our old van, the first is mood lighting above the front windows, the second is lights behind the pelmets so we didnt have to use the silly spotlights in the evenings and the third lighting up the doorway. easy to fit uses minimal power and dont get hot unlike the spotlights that used to keep my tan topped up

.
Well worth doing if you dont use EHU very often.

What is the best way to fit the led strips? I had trouble with the first led lamps I bought, they blew after a very short time. Reading about them somewhere I looked out for smd led's. These have been fine so far lasting for 4/5 months.

Double sided tape, i used the stuff that you can remove easy without damage if you decide to remove the lights later on.
as for wiring them in i used the switch on the spot lights and removed the bulbs.
the lights above the door was easy as i wired them to the awning light it was really easy to do, these were the ones i bought not from that seller but the same product.
