We collect ours tomorrow morning. Much excitement in the Foulds household........in fact the man of the household may spontaneously combust if he doesn't calm down (worse than promising a kid a trip to Disneyland). It was due to be delivered to the dealers yesterday, but actually arrived today. First outing is on Weds 21st for five days so we'll report back afterwards.....I hope it's good news too!

Picked up the van this morning, had the big tour and explaination of all the new bits, moved all our old van stuff into new van.

Stopped for a while and had lunch......made up the fixed bed.....now can't wait for the first proper outing on Wednesday, going to Lose Hill CC site.

Couple of bits needed attention, a small water leak and the waste from the shower has detached, all easy sorted.

Its a damn sexy van...will report back after first outing.

Well, fetched it last Monday and have just been away for three nights at the CC site at Whitewater (Teesside)- what a good site! 'Van was excellent - found nothing to fault it and loads of things that we didn't realise it had; new door flyscreen is terrific, 'fridge is like a cave, bed is very comfortable, fitted cd is a Blaupunkt (!!). All great with it so far.

Glad you like it! we have had a couple more outings and are now getting used to it, the Alko lock can be a bit of a pain if you are parked on a not quite level pitch and you need to move the van by hand...sure the muscles will grow in time.

I think that the Alko clamp is possibly one of the most stupid designs I've seen! To then have the instructions (in PC as well!) that "all you need to do is park the van level and then jack it up and turn the wheel to the right point" really isn't living on this planet!!! Who wants to jack up a caravan on grass??

I've bought a Milenco Lockloy - this achieves the same thing but without the effort and amount of time wasted (

Hi there,We too bought a new 540,check your door works ok.Our door could still be opened whilst locked,Lowdhams tried to repair it but problem went to other side of door on the hinge side,now it is only hanging on by a thread on the clips.Apparently its a design fault,caravan aperture is too large for door frame.Swift are to investigate!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi everyone, im so jealous , i want one of those vans so if any of you get board then ill have it, lol.

we have got an avondale 556/6 dart godiva special new oct 05, i do like it but making the bed up everyday and night does my head in.

i want a fixed bed. just upgraded the 4 x 4 so ill work on him to up grade the van next.

I have noticed that there is not much latch holding the door closed a couple of mm, but ours seems secure enough, keep us updated.

We have major problem with ours,van has gone back to swift,dealer refused a rejection letter under sale of goods act,so now swift is repairing it,lol.Our latch was just the same,only just hanging on.Suggest you contact dealer,or swift urgently.Maybe we could do something about it.Also i should peel back rubber seal around door frame to check the amount of clearance between frame and aperture of caravan.Keep me posted.
