Hi,

I'm after a bit of help please. When I switch my fridge to the mains ac selector, it trips the breaker on the site supply. This has happened on a few sites now, so I doubt it is due to an over sensitive breaker on the site..... Also, I have just tried to light the gas cooker/hob and first impression is that there is no gas. However, the gas bottle is new and the fridge will run off the gas. Therefore, the gas is ok. Yesterday, the hob was working fine and I have not touched anything as to prevent it from working. I have also tried to use the electric hob ring, but there doesn't seem to be a supply to the hob either!!. Yes, the circuit breaker is ok and has not tripped. Any tips???

Ta

Hi Ian

If your Swift is anything like my 2007 Charisma 555 model, then the gas comes in to a cupboard by the cooker, then it splits off with separate on/off knobs to each appliance. Has you caravan been in for a service recently ? When I had mine back, all the shut off valves were off, and nothing worked ! Have a look...

hi,

I've checked the taps and they're all on. What is wierd is that the fridge is working on gas, but the hob isn't. The taps for the fridge and oven are also in a side cupboard. What is even stranger is that the hob has started working again this afternoon and I haven't touched anything at all !!!! This has happened before and I thought it was a fluke....Now I'm confussed...

Hi Ian

Have you checked if your hob cover is opened fully? On my Swift Challeger 480 (2006), there is a cut off in the gas supply, if the cover is not fully opened. This caused me some puzzling minutes on one occasion.

Best of luck

Paul

Hi Ian ,

Sounds very much like an air lock in the pipe to the hob OR some kind of restriction .

Restrictions being:-

1) pipe bend/crease blocking gas flow but partially opening due to temperature within the van .

2) more likely , debris/fluid within the hob pipe or hob gas system itself .

STEVE.

OR Just bad B####y luck .

Thanks for your help chaps/esses. It does appear as though I'm pretty dull.... It was indeed due to me not opening the lid of the hob far enough, hence, the gas/elec supply was switched off. Working fine now thanks! Fridge still doesn't work though so I'll have to pull it apart next week.

Thanks again

Ian
