I was just wondering if there's anyone out there who has had any experience with a non-detachable swing-out towbar (either manual or power operated)? The ones I've seen (and I've only seen manual ones) require access to a lever in the boot which, if you've got a boot full of luggage, seems to defeat the purpose a bit.

Hi Lutz

I have one of these which was fitted as a VW part but is made by Brink. I think Brink are now part of Thurle.

Hi Lutz,

I have a Brink Thule fitted to my 2008 VW Passat and it is superb. You activate it by pulling a small loop handle underneath the rear of the car and retract it by turning a latch on the extended part. It also has a built in hidden bracket for attaching the break away cable as required in the Netherlands.

Regards

Phil
