Hi. Just about to change my tyres on my ABI Manhatten 2000. As I have a motor mover fitted does anyone know if the aspect ratio (profile)of the tyre is critical. The mover would have been fitted with my existing tyres on and a different aspect ratio between tyre and roller of the mover might change the gap Is this correct? Cannot find aspect ratio on my tyres which are 165R13C with a load speed index of 91/R. Some suppliers can fulfill the existing tyre size but I cannot quote them the aspect ratio figure which I am guessing is prob 70 to 80%. I cannot therefore ask for exact same tyre size including aspect ratio. Or maybe it does not matter.

Any answers?

Frank, it does not really matter too much about tyres, as the gap betwen the mover wheels and tyres can be reset, the distance should be in your mover handbook, and it is a simple task of slackening off the clamp bolts on the mover and adjusting the gap, and re tightening.

If the aspect ratio is not shown, the modern equivalent will be marked as ***/80/** the asterisks being the relevant size for your tyre eg: 175/80/13

Frank, failing all else you can work it out. The width is 165mm, measure the distance between the tread and the rim and then work out the ratio. I suspect it is 70% but in any case the difference in distance between the tread and the rim between a 70% and 80% profile is very small.

Have you been following the thread regarding Hankook tyres. It is particularly relevant to 13inch commercial tyres (the C in your designation) and the load / speed rating 91R.

Thanks for info re aspect ratio. I have been following the story re Hankook tyres and I was pointed in their direction by local tyre dealer. Have seen what you have to say then I am looking elsewhere.
