hi
Fridge and freeze box not getting cold on mains electric or gas didn't try 12v.

On mains electric the fridge light does not work and the fridge does not get cold, when hand put over vent on outside of van a little heat heat could be felt.( it was a hot day).

On gas the fridge burner lights and the green indicator light stays in the green but the fridge stays warm inside, and a lot of heat can be felt in the top external vent.

Any ideas what is wrong?

Dont want to sound out the obvious, sorry but,

Have you closed the door properly?

Have you checked the seals around the door?

Try it on gas but don't even open the door for at least two hours .... give it a chance to work due to the ambient temperature that it will be at, if you can leave it overnight all the better.

As Gaga say's check that your door is closed properly .....

Put a thermometer in the fridge so that you can see that it is working ...

Last week my fridge was showing over 24C ambient temp inside .... popped it on gas for two hour's and the fridge was then down to 5C .... Then the food from the coolbox was added then it was switched over to the electric .....

What you don't want to do is fill it with food then turn it on and expect it to cool down strait away.

Hi
We put some food and bottles of milk in the fridge when we arrived and turned the fridge to electric, this was left over nite but didn't feel cold in the morning. I then tried the gas for approx six hours again not cold but the door had been opened a few times.

The fridge doesn't run on 12v unless it is being towed at the time, and then it will only just about maintain the previously reached temperature.

Worried that the cooler unit may be faulty and can't afford a new fridge.

It could be lack of ventilation I fitted a twin cooling fan inside the top vent to help with the air flow when it's extremely hot and no wind or when the vent's are in the sun ;)

Have a read of this .... it has a few links to various fans ;)
