Hi all, bit of a problem with our theftford electric swivel toilet that is fitted in our 2009 Bailey Senator California.
arived on site last Thursday filled toilet up and working fine, but seemed to be using quite a lot of water, re filled with water on Saturday got up this morning used the toilet, lots of whirling noise from the pump when I pressed the blue button but no water!

removed the cassette from outside and lots of pink water in the holding tray, and header tank completely empty! Any ideas any one.

Thanks in advance for any help, Allan & Gill, from a cold and snowy Newark. :)

I am fairly sure there is an issue if the flush tank is not drained down as the water freezes and bursts the pipe. Thetford supply a mod FOC I am told.

Thanks Dusty and Surfer, the drain down tube looke A ok, I have just sent off for the mod re the improved drain down, but will that cure the problem of no water being delivered to the bowl?

Kind regards, and thank you very much for your advice. Allan.

Yes . If all the pink flush has been leaking out; with the "fix" you should be ok. Fingers crossed.

Hi Al

Wouls also suggest you pull the pump and check the body has'nt cracked... frost damage. I had the same problem last year.
To remove the pump.
From the outside look up the inside compartment, follow the pipes. Pipes are held on by spring clips. Use pliers to grip/squeeze to remove.
The pump has two ears which you finger tip squeeze.

Hope this helps

Kev....

Best to empty the holding tank completely and run the pump a short time to expel all traces of water.
I did a thorough clean out of my tank just before the winter as it was full of bacteria etc. I used the garden hose at a trickle and a reputable toilet spray cleaner with added bleach ( you know the one) and cleaned all the inside using a bottle brush and old toothbrush.

Only problem was I left the modified drain open, then just a couple of weeks back when I was getting the van ready for a trip I found water overflowing into the toilet area. Luckily it was only a little and the cause was the open drain tap. I have now placed a label on the fill cap area to remind me to close the drain before filling.
