We have both Elsan and Mendip blues and pinks. Both makers say on their labels to use 60ml per 10 litres capacity. Do you know the capacities of your header tank and receiving tank? The small Elsan bottles have a scale up one transparent corner to see how much to use.

I just tip a bit of blue in through the emptying spout--say 1/2 a cupful or as little as possible for it to work. You can always add more next time!!

As for the pink stuff its not vital so same again just tip a bit in via the filling door unless you have a toilet that flushes off the main tank in which case you won't be needing the pink flush

Remember to pour any waste tank fluid into the spout NOT through the 'hatch' - the 'rubber' seals don't like exposure to the chemicals, and although seals are replaceable items they don't come cheap.

Your manual will tell you to lubricate the seals. This is essential. I use the Thetford seal lube. Just bought my second can in 6 years of caravanning. If you have a rotating loo also good for lubricating that. Several things take apart and details aren't in the manual. the Thetford website has full details.
