Thirsty post delivery

For years, I worked on building sites as a Bricklayer either scorching, freezing or soaking. Often I would get home and the wife would tell me, eg. “it’s been freezing today, I just popped to the shop from work”.

I don’t think she had any idea what I had been up to.

Spare a thought for the people walking doing their work in these temperatures..I offered a cool can of pop to ours,he thanked me,it surely must be difficult walking around with the sun on you🥤
Generous offer even though the it was not particularly that hot. Try working in 40C! LOL! Do you offer them tea in the winter when they are walking around in shorts?

When I worked in the tropics, it was mostly water, but at least twice a day, a Maggie cube instead of tea, perked you up until it was Beer O'clock.

We always carried water bottles with us. Although I despised gin, after a hard day's work a gin and tonic with a slice of lemon and ice was very refreshing. After that many beer o'clocks to replenish the liquid you lost during the day.
