Towball torque settings on Sorento

It matters not what car a towbar is fitted, in most cases the towball bolts need 143ftlb or 190Nm. This is for the common 16mm high tensile bolts which will have '8.8' embossed on the head, nuts are all the same.

Far less common but Witter supply a different bolt which needs more torque, this will have 10.8 on the head, I think this is 220Nm but you will need to check with Witter should you have this type.

graham @ great barr. I put that question to the garage that services my car and thay suggested other sources where they bought tools. 'Good enough to use, cheap enough to lose' was the phrase they used - seems they suffered from pilfering. Makes you despair.
