South Hampshire. My wife wants to start towing as muh as some back up if anything goes wrong. As we know you cant teach the wife anything and for the sake of the marriage cananyone recommend a convenient competency/confidence course she could attend and the likely cost.

Both major Clubs do exactly this type of course and whilst we have not used them they are spoken of very well by acquaintances that have. I believe they cost sub £100 and are done all over the county. There have certainly been some in south Hampshire, if I recall correctly they have been in the greater Fareham area within recent years.
I am not sure this will help the marriage as you stand the real risk of being told in a well informed way of all your little towing failings

As JTQ says both the Caravan Club and the Camping & Caravan Club run courses.
Couple of years back when I bought my first twin axle caravan I enrolled on the Caravan Club's one day manouvering course. They also run a two day course which is aimed at people with no caravan experience whilst the one day course is more for those wishing to improve their caravan manouvering skills. Although I had been caravanning for over twenty years I felt a little apprehensive about towing, and more especially reversing, a twin axle. I can thoroughly recommend the course, informative and enjoyable. The Club supply the caravan, you just need the towcar, with towball & electrics plus mirrors. You could both go, might surprise you what you would pick up!

Swmbo did a CC course at Evesham a few years ago. One and half days and worth every penny. She tows with confidence and has told me a few good tips that I didn't know. There were 6 ladies and 4 blokes on her course all of whom thoroughly enjoyed it.
