My little private caravanning world is about to be broken 😥😥Only today the likes of Kuoni are advertising U.K. holidays especially the Scottish Highlands , very much following places where us Tourers go. A sign of the changing times. Does that mean these Big Boys are abandoning “ Foreign “ holidays this year? Shame.

You may well be right DD. But fear not, assuming vaccines get us out of the current hole, and assuming a typical British Summer 🌂Everyone will be back in foreign parts in 2022.

We go with Naturetrek and Audley. The former has very much expanded holidays and even day guided trips throughout UK. Audley have expanded into Europe whereas they tended to be long haul and also have a section for holidays in Scotland. All great news for the UK hospitality industry and balance of payment, but this pressure for staycations does the same for me as it does for you.

Don’t worry you can go to the Dordogne on two nice sites near to pretty towns. . (Beynac and Sarlat) First two weeks of September three bedroom aircondition chalet with deck. Sleeps 8 around £600 ex ferry, take the family with you. . Leave the Brits at home. We’ve rescheduled our kitchen installation from September to July, whilst we watch the “space”.

Before we know, people will be returning to their preferred destinations when life goes back to some form of normality. It will be home or abroad but will be nice to have that choice and differing enviroments.

Possibly this is a holiday they would normally sell in other countries, but this year they will not get the numbers they normally achieve, so this is their way of keeping things going. You would not normally book Scotland through Kuoni, but they hope this year will be different.
