Truma Heater - Clicking and Ticking

2008 Swift van - when the Truma heater is on and warmed up it emits a clicking and ticking noise whenever the thermostat cuts in. Sounds like something expanding and contracting internally but is quite loud and becoming annoying. Has anyone seen or heard this before and know a fix - I've had the front off but nothing obvious. The noise persists when the front is off so it's not any of the tinwork on the cover.

Hello Gordon,

It is possible for the heat exchangers to creak but more often it is the flue pipe catching on the edge of installation box or where it passes through the outer pipe.

It may just need bending slightly to move it away from any box edges.

If it requires more than this, then refer it back to your dealer.

Under no circumstances remove the flue from the heater. there is a compliant seal that must be replaced every time the flue seal is broken.
