Hi Neil
You don't say the age and model. Assuming the hand controller and its battery are ok, have a look at the link. Do you have the manual ??
http://www.campingrus.co.uk/WebRoot/Store/Shops/es117864_shop/4A95/4168/E803/DBD4/5B78/0A0F/1118/188B/truma_mover_II_instructions.pdf
I hope it helps. Let us all know how you fix it.
I'm intrigued about jump start leads from the car , presumably to the Leisure battery and you say it then works.
Check all the wiring and all the connections.
Have you spoken to Truma? They are very helpful. Is the mover stil under guarantee??
Best of luck m8.

Hi neilg.
My Truma mover also failed to work.
I used it to move caravan off of the car.
I then moved the car out of the way, then returned to caravan to position it into the drive.
Nothing !!!!!!!
No movement whatsoever.
To cut a long story short,
It turned out to be the remote handset had failed.
Took it to a dealer and ended up having to buy a new one at a cost of £98.
Works perfect now.
Hope this may be of help.
Adrian

Hi Neilg.
To be honest,I cant remember what sequence the lights were flashing, but I do remember that I was unable to "pair" the remote to the motherboard.
I do however remember that when I turned the remote switch to "on",all I was getting was a VERY quick flash of green light appear on the remote, and not staying on as it should have been.
I must say that my local dealer advised me to be very wary of buying a cheaper remote as he said some of them(not all)did not contain the original Truma workings inside,so I decided to buy an original from them.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
Adrian

hi dustydog
rang truma today they said i would have to send them the remote control plus the motherboard to test them still could be a faulty mother board i told him that i tried the motherboard without the motors connected he said this would come back as fault so am also thinking poor contacts to motherboard but i think iam going to buy a new remote first as adrian has commented his failed without warning it just seems a coincidense that both motherboards say the same thing so i will try that first if that dosent work i will personally take the remote and motherboard to truma there only in derbyshire ile keep you updated
thanx neil

Forgot to say neilg, that my Truma mover is the "SE" model(fully automatic).
If it had been the "manual version",he said that another brand of remote may have worked with my motherboard and he would have been willing to try other used/repaired brands of remotes that he had in his workshop.
Is yours the manual version?
Maybe a thought.

Seems most odd to get the same fault with old and replacement and not for to be something other than the board?
However, 2002 was not a good vintage and assuming new and old are the same, I'm intrigued where the 'new' board came from?
I also have a feeling the fault code relates to a safety overload relay?

2002 would use a black twin axle handset, all are the same as long as their black, as for cheaper because of non-truma' parts?! Na, don't believe that for a moment.
I also doubt very much that a non truma handset will pair with a truma board, not in my experience anyway!

Hi Gary.
Whilst looking for information regarding buying a new Truma remote control,I contacted a mobile caravan servicing company(who I have used before) and it was them who told me that a handfull of their customers had purchased what they thought were original Truma remote control units, only to have them malfunction after a while.
When the said remotes were inspected, they did actually have non Truma working parts inside.
I believe that these units may have been purchased from well know auction sites.
As for compatability,my local Bailey dealership technician assured me that if my mover was the manual version and not the "SE" Automatic version, there are other remote units that may have been be compatable to "pair" with the motherboard.
Adrian.

just about all the truma electronics come from china . the fleabay remotes will be copies using the same hardware and circuitboards.

Many electronic copies from china suffer from "dry" solder joints and its these that often fail.
( i buy quite a lot of rc gear from china and the most common issue is that of dry joints , components are usually reliable but the assembly iis often ...er ... pretty poor.)

clean the brushes first.Mine packed up and it was simply the brushes were filthy and the armature needed a good clean as well. The brushed are very easy to get at. If they worn or damaged take them to your local vacuum repair shop and see if they have some of a similar size.
