It has been serviced,it seemed to happen when we had bad winds daft I know but could it have affected the heating of water? The fire on electric fine and blower fine.just seems strange that it does heat up but then seems to stop heating up so I switch it off for few hours then turn it on and it's fine water heats up then will go cold after a while help x

Hi KelsboySounds like you have a air lock within the boiler unit, I guess you have bleed the air from it via the taps before switching on the emmersion heater. The Truma unot has a built in thermostatic cut-off switch, and as you found will reset after a couple of hours once it cools off/time delay.Had a simular problem, took me ages to work out what was going on. Always ensure the boiler is full and bleed of air before turning on the electric emmersion.Hope this helps Kev...

before you switch on the water heater, fill & connect the aquaroll, open the furthest HOT tap & run the tap until a clear stream of water comes out with no spluttering or spitting, Then check any other hot taps also run clear. this makes sure there is no air in the system & the boiler is full.you can now turn on the electric water heater.
when using it on gas (assuming all gas cocks are open) have you remembered to remove the cover from the gas out let flue if not the boiler will not light up
the thermostat cut out will normall reset automaticly when the boiler cools or is refilled
