I have a Bailey 620 twin axle & this is my sixth Bailey in 16 years but just taken it for its 2nd year service & the tyres had split on the inside very badly. I have had to pay for 4 new tyres!. i would expect this at 4-5 years old & the dealer agrees. They have check the manufacturing date of the tyres & its the same age as the van. They are submitting a warranty claim but I'm not holding my breath. the caravan has very regular use throughout the year & has just come back from the South of France & a tour in the Alps. I shall post the warranty claim results.

The van & the dealer have both been brilliant & all my Baileys have been almost faultless & been towed thousands of miles.

Has anyone else experienced this in under two years ?

Readers have been contacting the 'Honest John' column in the motoring section of the Telegraph regarding the inside of their tyres wearing through. According to the columnist, many of the speed cushions installed by local councils are breaking down and the rough edges are shredding the inside of tyres.

I realise this may not apply in your case, Duncan, but apparently it is something that is happening to many tyres, so it's worth bearing in mind and to keep a check on the inside of tyres.
