Received our new awning today two days from ordering from Awnings they have blues in stock.

Reading the assy instructions, seems very straight forward,

checking through all the items needed to erect this awning we have Qty 8 narrow steel tubes no mention of these in the instructions, Two have a spike sticking out one end.Can some kind person advise me what these are for .

Many thanks in advance

Royston, they sound like the poles that you assemble to hold the doors open.

If you put them together with the spikes on the top and unzip the doors or the sides you will find two holes to put the spikes into creating a kind of sun canopy and they should be guyed.

I haven't got one I am just assuming so I could be wrong

Hi Royston

The one's with the spikes and another pole fitted on top of the spike are used to hold open one of the front windows (one for each side, spike goes into the ground), this give you a veranda effect.

The others are also slotted into each other giving you two long poles that run the length of the van, these are fitted inside the awning to give it support and stability length ways.

We put up our 260 for the 1st time this weekend.

We ordered it from Awnings and it was delivered very quick.

No problems putting it up and yes - we also took a while to twig what the steel poles were for!

We got a green one (our old one was blue) and the awning looked great....we even over-heard some admiring comments from fellow campers passing by!
