hi

has anyone been to warren farm at brean sands? we have booked our first caravan holiday for the 8th-14th may,so excited. worked out to be £60 for the whole stay as dogs and awnings are free,£7.50 for the pitch and £2.50 for electric wich we thought was great, directly next to the beach too, pools, entertainment etc

a relative went there years ago and said it was great but just wondering if anyone has been or know of someone who has?

I think Parksy may have, or if not then I'm sure he certainly knows of it, as he regularly holidays in the Brean area. I expect he'll be along soon to tell you about it.

Hi Danny

We go to Brean regularly because it's a nice steady two hour tow straight down the M5 from the West Midlands, some good friends have just moved to Somerset and there is plenty to do and see in and around the area.

We normally stay at Unity just up the road but we went to Warren Farm for a change last year.

The site when we visited was tidy, well run with pleasant helpful staff both around the park and in the adjacent Beachcomber Inn which is attached to the caravan park.

There is a small charge to use the shower which are in clean modern blocks although the shower blocks were a bit cold when we visited.

There is a separate field for dog owners with extensive country walks from there which are shown on the bumf given when you arrive at reception. All areas are flat with adequate pitch sizes

there is a childrens play area and Warren Farm is down at the quieter end of Coast Road which contains many holiday parks and the funfair.

There are meals including a Sunday carvery available from the Beachcomber Inn with food and drinks at reasonable prices

The beach is across the road accessible via the sand dunes if on foot or there is vehicle access at the far end.

A word of caution if you decide to take your car along to the beach area (why anyone would escapes me!)

Around five or six cars were lost last year when owners left them and went for walks, the cars became stuck in the soft sand and when the tide came in they were written off.

An acquaintance of mine decided to try his 4x4 out on the muddy part near to the foot of Brean Down and he soon got stuck with his two young daughters panicking in their 4x4

They had to be rescued by beach hovercraft and a bulldozer was used to rescue their truck.

I meant to add that there are two more reviews on Caravan Sitefinder one of which gives an honest appraisal from a dog owners viewpoint and the other which contains some minor criticisms.

Cheers Parksy for the honest opinion/review of Warren Farm.

We have also booked for this site for August and will certainly make sure that we walk to the beach!! that's if we have a decent spell of weather this summer.

I hope that you all enjoy the holidays at Warren Farm, unfortunately Herself has decreed that we are going somewhere other than Brean this summer :0( although we will be down there for the November Somerset Carnivals :0)

For dog owners who fancy a drink when they take their dog for a walk there is a pub on Coast Road (the main road) which welcomes dog owners.

Next door to McColls supermarket and off licence is the entrance to 'Lazy Days' caravan park which is basically four statics stuck behind the supermarket.

Walk up the drive which is a public right of way and there is a large pub at the end called the Ocean View.

It's a normal friendly pub open to families and dog owners are welcome.

There are great views across Bridgewater Bay from the rear patio and an added bonus is that the beer is amongst the cheapest in Somerset.

Good luck Danny & co on your first holiday with the caravan.
