Water Pump!!!!!?

We have now purchased a water pump. We had to make it ourselves!!! Pump, tubing and flat pin plug.....However when we tried it out this weekend everytime we turned the taps, water gushed out of the socket.....and the bathroom tap didn't work if the kitchen tap was turned on and vice versa!!!!Also the pressure was non existant!

PLEASE can anyone suggest what to do other than abandoning caravanning altogether.

J, I would think that the pressure at the tap would be non existant if the water was gushing out at the socket into the van. Do you mean if either tap is on that the other tap dosnt produce water? If you open either tap it should switch the pump on, but if you have no power it will not be enough to feed both taps if they are open. Can you please explain the set up you have. Do you have an arrangement with cold water only?

What is the arrangement for getting the water from the pump to the van and why is it gushing out, is it the wrong connector / is it a push on hose?

don't understand what you mean by making it yourself. there are plenty of pumps on the market.Also which socket is the water coming out of? Emmerson
