OK the picture tells a story.

As I identified it previously you have a Carver Crystal Mk1 water inlet system, The picture shows the inside of the water inlet box, and it is missing the filter cartridge, and becasue its missing the pumps water flow is is escaping from the housing. The missing cartridge seals the system.

If you get one of these filters (still widely available) and use it, your water system should fill correctly. Do not over tighten the filter as that can crack the blue plastic housing it screws into. The web in the clear plastic cap should be vertical.

However as I have already indicated the blue plastic fitting in the caravan wall is now about 30 years old, and may already have been damaged if the previous owner has over tightened a previous filter.

These days you don't actually need to filter the water so when the filter has expired all you really need to do is to separate the the white plastic conical body from the clear cap, and just refit the cap into the housing in the caravan.

I also note there are no retaining clips in the picture to hold the hose into the blue housing.

If that is the same filter that is fitted on the older Lunar Clubman we really struggled to get a replacement filter, but this was way back in 2011. We upgraded the unit to the newer Truma and did away with the filter as no longer required. Saved us a fortune in filters as they were not cheap if you could get hold of one.

If you Google search for the Crystal filter MK1 there are plenty of sources shown. But as I have described it easy enough to eliminate the filter and avoid the need for buying future replacements.

Thank you @ProfJohnL ! I bought the filter online and problem solved! Very grateful for your advice. Now to see if the water heats up . . . .
