Our hot water is really hot. Up until now its just been the 2 of us, so we are sensible enough to know that we turn cold on too (both taps are mixers) But we are soon to take our young granssons out on a trip and now I'm worrying about them scalding themselves. The youngest one (2) wont mind having nan/grandad in the loo with them, but the eldest 2 (5 & 6) well thats not on. They only have seperate taps at home so not used to mixers when washing their hands. Am I worrying for nothing or is there a way of turning the temp down.

many thanks

If you've got a Truma Ultrastore hot water the temperature can be controlled using the thermostat when running it on gas only. The electric immersion heater is fixed at 70degrees and you can't change it.(I suppose if you were dedicated you could get hold of an external thermostat and wire it in but it would need to be fixed to the boiler tank, under the insulation to sense the water temperature).

As an aside, we've been caravanning with our two Grandsons since they were 3 and 6, they are now 7 and 10 and we've had no problems - we showed them how to use the taps and they were quite happy.

Thanks Dave

I'm just worrying too much I think. Like my husband has said 'they will only do it once' 'they will grow & learn'
