Weather to Venture Forth

- or not, in this case. Well, we know it's a bank holiday week, don't we folks? We have been spoiled by a very pleasant summer; what a culture shock to face this wet stuff once again. Brollies? Wellies? In the deepest recesses of my cupboard where they have languished unwanted for a few months. I feel for the famillies who, as I write, must be in their 'vans trying to find indoors-type activities to pass the time. I think the entire nation must be on the internet at the moment as everything seems to be on a go-slow. Perhaps an ideal time to get out to all our brilliant museums and art galleries for a spot of education and culture!

Roll on the Woosiie Fest, and I do hope the weather improves again by the end of September. I am not a great fan of setting up in the rain. Also, at this time of year the spiders are all geared up for a dash into shelter from the autumnal damp and chill. Urgh..........(shudder)

Can't complain about the weather here in Tayside today with the sun shining and the wind dropped from yesterday. Best day was Sunday with no wind and lovely and warm, must just be in the right place just now.

Well it's only fair that you get at least 3 days of dry weather a year in Scotland. :evil:

Come on Cynth! I didn't think you were only a fine-weather camper? We're just back from a week in the van in South Wales, and next week we're off for a week in North Wales.Just turn up the heat and open another bottle. There's always someone will help you empty it.

Must be getting old, Emmerson! Actually I don't consider myself a fair-weather camper, as I use the van all year round. I don't mind setting up in the cold, but as a singleton I have everything to do on my own, which obviously doubles the time taken. When my ex and I caravanned in the Elddis, we worked as a team and on arriving on site could be sitting cosily in the, van enjoying a cup of coffee within 10 - 15 minutes. Working solo, and having more to do to set up (erecting a folder) there is the potential for getting very wet if the weather's inclement on arrival at the site! And I'm enough of a Woos to delay my departure from a site if it's tipping it down on the proposed day of leaving.

Never mind - I have the luxury of being a retiree so don't often bother going out unless the forecast is reasonable.
