A great cl site, 7 pound a night with elec! and it has a toilet (no shower), all be it a bit old, situated right on the old RAFAirfield of the same name, we go every year for a cheap holiday in the south. truly stunning views with lovelly owners, they also own the active airstrip next to the site. Of an evening, i sit with my wine, watching the microlights land and take off. locally there is farm shops, a spar and 3 pubs in the village a few yards down the road. The last time we were there, the flying club had a hog roast and we had a splendit night. A local flight can also be arranged by talking to the owner pilots, who are all really nice chaps. great for dogs (and free)
Tim the owner is a farmer and he and his family are lovelly, of an evening he often wanders round the few vans to check everything is ok and to have a cuppa and a chat, with views across the countryside its a peacefull site. For those history buffs, the old airfield is in pretty good nick and a tower and several buildings still exist, along with the runways, all of which is owned by Tim, so you have permission to wander round to your hearts content!
Well thats my best site so far, both for the experiance and the cost,
but dont go there you would'nt like it !!!

Zoyland is the old somerset word for island , as the the area was all wetlands until they drained a lot of the area , but its also famous for the last major battle in this land of ours ,on the 6 of July 1685 an army from the welsh borders and the people of Cornwall under the leadership of the Duke of Monmouth tried to sneak up to the English army camped at Sedgemoor , but as they crossed the Bussex Rhine a drainage ditch a shot rang out and alerted the English army who quickly cut down the duke of Monmouths who were just farmers , and a lot of the prisoners were held in St mary's church before being put on trial at the bloody assizes
