I`m thinking of buying a Whale aquasource mains water connection kit. Has anyone had any problems with it? The reason i`m asking is that my piping in the caravan will be under constant water pressure with this piece of kit. Price from Towsure is only £46.95. If I go with the other system of an Ultra flow Waterline @ £89.95 then a new Aquaroll (with the side cap) @ £49.50, Total £139.45. A saving of £92.50 will be made with the Whale but will it be worth it? Regards, Peter

Hello Peter,
I use a Waterhog (about £40-ish). In the side cap I cut a hole to take a float valve (Plumb centre or similar-about £12-ish) I connect this to the site tap with a Whale extension hose with snap connectors at each end.Drop the feed pipe into the top and away you go, Total cost would be around £60-70, and you would not need to worry about mains water pressure on your van's pipework when not in attendance. It works for me. Good luck
Regards
Derek

The Aquasiurce has a built in pressure relief valve so very safe, as always whatever method you use i would always turn the tap off if van unattended

got one from h2oflow came with 7.5 mtr food pipe and a selection of connectres about £23 the only thing as with them all you must get the float at the angle when the side cap is screwed tight.

My van came with one as standards the first time I used it at home I had a flood in the van so didn't use it again untill today. What happened was a o ring on the water heater connector was not installed correctly and the water pressure blew it out. I fixed the O ring but then I bought one of the float in the water barrel thingys which works great and if it did go wrong it won't flood in the van.
Today however I have the van at home and I have tried it out again and it is working fine. I used it as I have a fault with my pressurised system where the pumps runs for a few seconds every couple of mins, no leaks / drips but I think the pump is leaking back into the water butt though the pump, using the aquasource stops this from happening.
Be wary of your pipework as only small o rings are between you and a disaster.

Have one and used it with no problems, however, it has been surplus to requirements (thought still in our possession) since 2008 when we bought a new van with the new truma fitting and have had to get a truma one as whale did not have an adaptor for the new fitting.
