hello folks,

just been out in my van for the first time apart from part of the heki rooflight being blown off in the wind the brand new whale pump seems to "hunt or surge" not badly but my old caravan never did this. i do have an inline charcoal filter would this have anything to do with it?

Generally the filter shouldn't make much difference unless of course is all gunged up. We found the water system a bit noisy and surged and splattered until "I read the instructions". It's much better now that I bleed the air out as I fill the system, rather than letting it fill then turning a tap on to try and expel the compressed air & water. Have you got an inboard pump? I'm not totally convinced that these are better coz they will suck air when you run out of water - we get vitually no problems at all if we dont let the aquaroll run dry.

What do you mean by "hunt or surge" if it is coming on by itself for a couple of seconds at a time and you have a pressurised system, you could have a water leak as I found out to my cost over christmas.

the pump isnt running at a given speed. its up and down, not by much but noticeable, its also a brand new filter and no leaks visible!

try putting the head of the shower into a bucket of water and turn it on, if there are any bubbles coming through, you have a leak somewhere, give that a check first.
