Whale Water heater and Space Heater Issues

I am having issues with both my Whale Space Heater and Water Heater than both stopped working correctly at the same time.

Space Heater - Showing an Configuration Error (10) on iVAN display. Space Heater is found on display. It blows a puff of air every 5-10 secs. Reset iVan Panel and re-added space heater several times. When I contacted Whale they said it is the main PCB. Any experience with this? How easy is it to change the board? Looks like it needs to be accessed underneath the van.

Water Heater - No error messages on the iVan panel. Re-added several times and confirms water heater has been added. Temp reading as 0c on iVan display and even though you can turn it on with either electric or gas it never heats up. When I contacted Whale they said as the blue light on the comms PCB isn't flashing the board is broken, which I have now replaced but still doesn't work. Whale are now just saying get someone out to look at it! I have checked the voltage reading with a meter are all looks good.

Not sure what else to do and a couple of repair companies local to me don't want to touch Whale stuff and another guy just said he would contact Whale and ask them what to do.

Any suggestions or similar experiences would be appreciated? Thanks

Hello Simon,

Welcome to the forum. your first post was on a thread that had been inactive several months, and that probably means the situation had been resolved in some way, but the original poster hasn't told us how it was resolved.

Incidentally It really can help us to know the make, model and year of the caravan or the appliances. Even if we cant offer a technical answer, we may spot alternative remedy's that you might not have thought about. For example do you have any Warranty left on the products.

Some companies have earned a reputation for being well orientated towards customer service, and I would place Whale amongst them. They have reached out to customers on this forum to offer direct advice or help. I'm not suggesting you should wait for them to spot this thread, but I think you will find they do genuinely want to help.

With the way technology has advanced, not all fitters in dealer workshops will have had training to resolve such issues on Whale products so that might explain why some have declined to help on this occasion.

I hope it gets resolved quickly.
