Hello Jo-anne

It can all become a little confusing. In the UK the towing ratio is calculated at its worst possible limit, in other words the caravan is at its maximum weight limit (MTPLM) and the tow vehicle at its lightest possible weight (Kerb weight).

(Caravan MTPLM/Kerb weight) x 100 = ratio in %

Taken from the Hyundai web page the kerb weight is 1893Kg, and from the Bailey site the MTPLM for Wyoming is 1678Kg

(1678/1893) x 100 = 89%

Most cars are actually heavier than the published kerbweight figure because of the factory fitted options, so if you were to actually have your car weighed in its kerbweight condition, you could actually produce a more accurate figure.

In reality, it is possible that you may not load your caravan to its fullest extent, and you add load to your car so the actual ratio of your outfit in towing condition will be better than the indicated 89%

The website you used to assess your outfit has some inaccuracies, so it is important that you always check the limits of your caravan and car with handbook supplied with the car, or the dealer or manufacture - do not rely on data from third part sites - even this one.
