What do I need to do for winter storage.

Hi all.

This is my 1st winter, is there any suggestions for what I need to do to the van while it is in storage. I am taking out all of the custions and I have washed the water system with milton fluid and drained the system down, taken all the food out. The van has just been serviced so hopefully the dealer has greased it all up( in the right places ). The only thing I have been told is to place a container of cat litter to absorb the moisture.

i put a couple of bowls filled with salt, which collects the moisture.open all of your cupboards and doors, and i open all of the taps(not sure if that does any good).that should be enough.

oh and make sure any vents arent covered up as the air needs to still get in

Marc, in addition to Steven's comments I would add the following:

Remove any water filter cartridges (if fitted) especially the carver cristal cartridge type, as these have a habit of freezing & cracking the housing. I would also remove the shower head just to be on the safe side.Put a drop of cooking oil onto the rubber seal of the toilet cassette & open & close it a couple of times. This stops it sticking. Finally get a couple of bounce tumble drying sheets & leave them in the van over winter - it smells great in the spring !

By the way, I forgot to mention the most obvious thing which is not to pull cassette blinds down as this will weaken the spring mechanism.
