what does damp look like?

I have what I believe could be damp. A small area(4 x 3 inches) underneath a front window has a lumpy effect - as if you have wallpapered over some sawdust! There is no smell or feeling of wetness, need I be concerned?

The caravan is a 2007 model Senator Indiana. Is there a simple test or should I just take it to the Dealer and let him test it? I am just thinking that it could get nasty if left over a wet winter - after a wet summer!

I would DEFINATELY get it tested using the industry standard damp meter.

What you have described is a classic case of damp where the degradation of the plywood has started.

You will not feel any damp, or smell it as the damp is sealed behind the wall board covering.

Try pressing with your thumb and if it feels spongy or gives to any extent, it is wet and needs sorting out asap

any discolouration of the interior board or any uneven surfaces appearing like goose pimples, ridges or ripples are almost always signs of water ingress im affraid.
