Had a look at towing mirrors today by Millenco, one set was a massive size more like a commercial type but good , thought it a bit ugly on our outfit, other Millenco had those clamps type but with no rubber clamps around back of mirror. My thought was if the brackets came loose the mirror would come off but to be fair the clamps look quite strong.any thoughts on these would be appreciated.

I use the Milenco Grand Aero mirrors, they are great ,you can see the side of the not just a section, fit the cars mrrors very well and dont move when on the move.
Friend borrowed them to try and purchased a set himself ,i would never ever think of using anything else,

Also have the Milenco mirrors. Solid as a rock when clamped on, no slipping through vibration, never mind falling off. We used to have the sort with a rubber strap around the back of the mirror. These were useless and slipped every time there was a bump in the road. Can recommend the Milenco sort wholeheartedly.

I also have the Milenco Grand Aero mirrors.
I can only re-iterate what the others have said above and they are the best mirrors that I've ever bought.
Whether you would class them ugly or not I don't know but then again I don't care as long as they are up to the job.
Expensive yes but you get what you pay for.

I'm the odd dog out . I have the large SMATs with rubber straps. Excellent vision and easy to attach.

Another fan of Grand aeros after trying lots of others. Agree that it's all or nothing with the clamps and you have to screw them dwon tight, but it should be possible to run a thin retaining strap round them if it would make you feel more confident.

Their big advantage from my point of view is that - with other types - a passing HGV on a windy day can produce enough turbulence to fold the car mirror back against the body given the extra area and leverage of the average mirror. Then you have to stop and re-set the mirror. used to be frequent on autopista in spain, never happend with grand aeros under similar conditions. If you car is much narrower than uyou van get the convex type but beware of the image distortion problem.

Thanks guys for your comments, the Grand i take it is the flat mirror. We have a Skoda Octavia Elegance dsg 140 bhp so those other type looked better but take on board what you have said.

Another big fan of grand aeros. we have had them more or less since they came out. I have convex lenses on both sideas. As long as you take note that it makes things seem a bit closer then they are fine. You can see a bit more than with flat lenses. We lost one of the pads once but spares are available. My only gripe is the white reflectors fall off. We have put some white reflective tape from Halfords on them. Quite useful for the mirrors being seen in tunnels and on narrow roads.

I did not see any white reflectors on the ones in the shop plus hope i do not get that close to obstructions what ever they are.

I've never had reflectors on mine!!!!!!!!
Also when I bought them I bought a spare set of pads just incase I lost one and I keep them in the caravan. Personally I don't like convex lenses, preferring flat for the obvious reasons.

Since making this post I went to look at my mirrors. There is a small white circle on the outside edge of the mirror. If it is a reflector it isn't very effective having just shined a torch on it in the dark.
