What would you want from Santa?

It's nearly that time of year again when SWMBO asks what I want for Christmas.........
Given that I'm obsessed with having all the gadgets and accessories I see for both the car and caravan what would you ask or wish for?
Money's pretty tight this year so my initial thoughts of a dvd/tv/ipod player for the car or a motor mover for the caravan will remain on the wish list but, just out of curiosity, what will you be hoping to find under the Christmas tree?
Any replies might be hinted for when she goes shopping so let's have your ideas guys!

Does it have to be caravan related? If so, I wouldn't mind a mover.

Non caravan related - I wouldn't mind some Bowens studio lights and a 1DS MK III.

But back to reality, perfume and bubble bath will be fine.

Same as LB, we don't buy each other Christmas presents, but normally get something we need for the house....in previous years it's been a microwave, new flat screen TV, set of saucepans, DVD player. However, since we moved house this year and have spent more than enough on the new house, we won't be buying anything!

If somebody really wanted to buy me something for Christmas, then I'd like the Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall cookbook 'River Cottage Every Day' - Amazon are doing it at a good price, if anybody desperately wants to get me it!!!

Oh Sue, He slaughters his own animals doesn't he

. Al those pet chickens and rabbits.

We were going to get a new tv for the bedroom but had to replace the lounge one earlier in the year. We'll wait until the january sales and knowing my luck we'll end up waiting until xmas 2011 and so the january sales thing starts again.
I expect I'll get a bottle of something. Even the dogs do better

And I don't suppose I would if I had any)

Like Lord B, we don't really buy each other presents. Anything under the tree is just token stuff like choccies/sherry/port etc. When we bought our first new caravan three years ago we decided that I gave him half and he gave me the other half. And we agreed that it would count as 10 years worth.

When we bought our last brand new caravan, also 3 years ago, my husband said that was my Christmas, birthday and anniversary presents for the next 10 years. However, since we no longer have the caravan, perhaps I'm justified in considering another present..........somehow, I doubt he'll see it in the same light!

In no particular order:
  • Fifa 11 Xbox 360
  • Small industrial unit with a four-post lift ( so I don't have to work on the vans outside )
  • Lego Technic 8053 Mobile Crane
  • 2010 Elddis Xplore 302 (cheaper than the 2011 one, and not much different) with a payload upgrade
  • Sony MEXBT3800U CD/Radio for the van
  • Subaru Impreza 2.0Rn with detachable towbar - in red to match the caravan
  • A-Team on Blu-Ray
  • Socks
  • A month off work to tour Scandinavia

Of these, I have a good chance of getting the socks and an outside chance of the Xbox game and the Blu-Ray. The rest are at Santa's discretion...

Good effort though and ten out of ten for initiative, she might feel sooo guilty if she sees your wish list as witnessed by your devoted readers on this forum that she'll upgrade your Christmas presents to - erm... after shave

Great wish list Nigel - just proves we're all still boys at heart!
We've decided that our trip away for New Year will be our present to each other and buy only a token gift to go under the tree.
But what I DON'T want is:
Pants...I already have 12 pairs namely Jan, Feb, March etc
Socks... already have a drawer full of the ones I wear and two drawers full of odd ones (why do we keep them and where do they go?)
Aftershave... Still have lasts years Poundshop stuff unopened in the bathroom - "Huge Boss" instead of Hugo and "Calvin Kleen".
But whatever it is I've perfected that look of surprise and delight as I rip off the Christmas paper and exclaim "Darling, how did you know???????????"

Beware of what you wish for and hanker after as the reality of getting what you dreamed for can be a big downer. I always aspired to have "The best 4x4 by Far". I managed to get a good deal on a used low mileage Disco 3 that was great tow car when it worked
smiley-embarassed.gif

the local dealer was pretty naff so we did a deal and traded up at another dealer with another Disco 3 as soon as the suspension went wrong and the sound system itself the dealer and salesman were no longer our friends
smiley-cry.gif
and less so when the problems continued. Last Christmas awaited the Disco 4, that's now gone thank God and got a full refund after a fight so I guess that was my early Christmas present

I guess it would have to be something that would allow me to transfer VHS tapes to DVD. It's a job I've been meaning to do for years. Some of the tapes I haven't watched in a very long time and include family members who are now deceased. I imagine it will be quite a teatful experience for the rest of us. Merry Christmas, Butler.
