Whats next to go wrong?

My wife & I are on a seasonal pitch in our Bailey Ranger Series 5. We are living in it for 6 months before we put into storage for 6 months whilst we visit the grandkids in Oz. For the last 3 years everything has been peachy and after a glowing service report in Mach we were looking forward to our 6 months in Cornwall.
However as part of our seasonal agreement we have to get off site every 21 days. A couple of months ago the night before we went off site we had a power outage for the whole surrounding area. power returned in the early hours and off we went. On our return, on plugging the electrics in we had lost our 12v Out came my trusty meter and discovered that the charger unit had given up the ghost. £100+ later after a trip to the local dealer and half hour to replace all was well. well that is until we returned 21 days later from our next off site to discover the battery had failed (we had had it 9 yrs so it gave us a good seeing to) Que back to the dealers and yet again another £100+ for a new battery and we were all good again. 2 weeks ago off we went again and when we came back the toilet pump gave up on the 3rd pump. At least that was only just over £30 to fix.
Next Monday it is again our time to be off site and I am dreading returning to find what has gone this time. I thought caravanning was a cheap holiday?

It is until something like that goes wrong !! Unlucky !
Its not a cheap hobby when things start going but it sounds like you've had some good years worth out of the things that have packed in though .

I once described our hobby to a friend as a money pit.

Sorry to hear of your problems, hopefully everything will be ok now. Make sure the dealer took the tranit bungs out of the battery. I had a new battery once and the dealer didn't - the battery split wide open!

Sorry to hear your woes, it’s hassle you don’t want. 10 years ago we had a new Bailey Senator Indiana. Kept it for nearly 5 years and it averaged a visit to the dealer every 6 weeks. We did between 120 and 150 nights out each year so it had some use. Knowing how much we spent, depreciation, storage and insurance I worked out it cost us £30 a night out, before site fees.
